Rockwool Insulation Help Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge

The opening ceremony of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge was held in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province on the morning of the 23rd.

The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge spans the ocean, connects Hong Kong to the east, and connects Zhuhai and Macau to the west. It has a total length of about 55 kilometers and is the first large-scale cross-sea traffic project jointly built by Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.

The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge starts from the artificial island of Hong Kong port near the Hong Kong International Airport. It is divided into a Y-shaped connection to the Zhuhai and Macao port artificial islands to the west. It ends at Hongwan, Zhuhai, with a total length of 55 kilometers. The main project “Haizhong Bridge Tunnel” is 35.5 long. Kilometers, the submarine tunnel is about 6.75 kilometers long and is the longest sea-crossing bridge in the world.

The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge consists of three parts: the bridge, the port artificial island and the tunnel. It is one of the most technically complex, construction requirements and standards in China's traffic history. It was praised by the British “Guardian” as “the Seven Wonders of the New World”.

The Hong Kong, Zhuhai and Macau ports are an important part of this super project. It will become an important hub for passengers and goods. There will be tens of thousands of passengers going through the customs inspection procedures at various ports every day to reduce the energy consumption of buildings. Reducing the risk of fire has become an important goal of the project. At the same time, due to the high humidity on the island, the air conditioning system on the island also needs thermal insulation measures.

It is reported that rock wool, flexible rubber and plastic insulation materials, extruded boards and other products are used in construction components such as project curtain wall, roofing, inner partition wall and fire air duct, as well as air-conditioning room, chilled water pipe and air duct system on artificial island. It can effectively reduce the energy consumption of buildings, improve the comfort and moisture resistance of buildings, and improve the fire performance of this super project, which is the safe escort for tens of thousands of passengers who walk through the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge every day.
